Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, Rebecca Force is a writer, faith-filled encourager, and designer.  A confidence catalyst with a vibe that makes people compare her to their sister, cousin, or best-friend, the community that surrounds Rebecca is inspired by her determination to see the good in life knowing,

if she can do it, so can I.

Rebecca is best known for her work as a television costume designer and stylist.  She built her career in entertainment, from a dream in her living room to dressing talent on her favorite shows.  The course of Rebecca’s life changed when her designs were selected by America’s votes to win the Dancing with the Stars costume design contest (season 8).

Rebecca has worked with many artists including Mike Colter, Michael B. Jordan, Glenn Close, Brad Pitt, Corbin Reid, Owen Wilson, Keke Palmer, the cast of Black-ish (Emmy Nomination) and The Real (Emmy and NAACP award winner). Rebecca attributes her sustained success to the guidance of mentor Julie Weiss and learning from her foundational years as a production assistant and assistant designer with Ryan Murphy TV. Rebecca uses costume design to support scripts and develop characters. Her commitment to leveraging fashion as a means of storytelling has fueled her passion in lifestyle and creative writing.   As a lifestyle writer, Rebecca contributed as Fashion Editor of TNE Magazine, the Costume Designers’ Guild Magazines, and currently posts to her blog.

With a heart for mentorship, Rebecca created Style + Lead, the first online curriculum for aspiring costumers in Television and Film.  Style + Lead, established in 2017, focuses on leadership and professional development to cultivate long-lasting careers for costumers and stylists, a rapidly growing field. Rebecca found out quickly her first year in Los Angeles, there was no time for on-the-job training for a field that required experience to join.  That’s why she created practicum based on her wins and losses transitioning from college to the real world – to fill the gap for the next class of aspiring costumers   Rebecca is a graduate of Brandeis University (MFA) and The Pennsylvania State University (BA). She is a member of the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences, costume category and the Costume Designers Guild, 892.  Rebecca currently lives in State College, Pennsylvania with her step-son Hunter, her husband, Chris and their daughter, Logan.  @_rebeccaforce
